Magical Midway

As you travel through Orlando on the way to all of the major theme parks and tourist sights, you'll likely notice two rainbow-colored ride towers scraping the sky near Sand Lake. Those towers belong to Sling Shot Orlando at Magical Midway. The small thrill park features go-kart tracks located just two miles south of the main entrance at Universal Studios Florida in Southwest Orlando on International Drive.

The Park

Magical Midway offers free admission as visitors pay per ride at the park. The park sells wristbands that allow unlimited riding, which could be a great value if you plan to ride multiple rides multiple times. Be sure to check the Magical Midway website for occasional printable coupon offers that can also help save a few dollars for your visit. The park is open daily until midnight, so you can enjoy the attractions during the sunny Orlando days, or at night when the park lights up.

The park does not have an area for small children, just for thrill-seekers, so keep that mind if you're traveling with family. At Brooklyn Pizza inside the park, you can enjoy New York style pizza by the slice or by the pie. In addition to rides, an arcade offers video games and skill games that earn tickets that can be traded in for prizes at the gift counter.

Rides

Magical Midway is home to three go-kart tracks - one is flat on the ground as you'd expect, while the other two are elevated throughout the park, giving an exciting twist to the exciting racing ride.

The Orlando Sling Shot is the world's largest slingshot ride at 400 feet. The ride is a reverse bungee-jump, where you load into a cart down into a plastic volcano and then erupt through air. The ride's rainbow-colored towers glow at night. The Star Shot swing ride is located right next to the Sling Shot. The Star Shot isn't your average swing ride; the swings go up 230 feet and travel at speeds close to 50 mph.The Space Shot is another tower ride at Magical Midway. Riders load into a cart around the outside of the tower and are launched 180 feet in the air before dropping into an exciting free fall.

The midway at Magical Midway also includes bumper cars, bumper boats, a spinning thrill ride, and a carousel.
